Your Strategy for Treating Gingivitis
You need to have a plan, a strategy, for the care of your gums if you develop gingivitis. Gingivitis is the earliest stage of gum disease and is usually considered mild. The treatment of this condition is usually not painful nor very expensive. No doubt the best strategy in treating gingivitis is also the best way to prevent it. Simply, having and following a regular home oral program of good hygiene. That includes brushing your teeth at least two times a day with an antibacterial toothpaste such as Colgate Total or Crest. Additionally, flossing daily is required to remove plaque between teeth and below the gum line. Finally, it is important to disinfect your mouth before brushing with an antibacterial mouth rinse. Rinsing before you brush will lubricate your mouth and disinfect it, so that when you brush or floss you will push some of the rinse below the gum. The disinfectant rinse will kill germs and keep inflammation reduced.
The Necessary Products for Gingivitis Treatment
The treatment of gingivitis involves the use of effective dental health products. A good oral health regimen will help reverse gingivitis before it gets worse. The oral health regimen includes:
1) Antibacterial toothpaste: An antibacterial toothpaste such as Colgate Total or Crest Pro Health will help reduce germs that cause cavities and gingivitis.
2) Floss: Many brands of floss are on the market. Glide is a very good one because it is so easy to use. Waxed flosses are easier to use than nonwax versions because of their ease of use.
3) Antibacterial Mouth Rinse: Mouth rinses like Listerine and Crest Pro Health are excellent rinses to use to kill germs and treat gingivitis. Rinsing before and after brushing will improve the effect of the rinse and keep you healthy all day long.
4) Electric toothbrush: Using an electric toothbrush will remove more plaque than using a manual one. The electric brush rotates rapidly giving your gums a massage and removes all plaque and germs.
