Sealants for Kids
A sealant is a plastic coating that is applied to chewing surfaces of the back teeth. The chewing surfaces have deep grooves that collect plaque and are not easily cleaned. These are the areas where cavities first get started. The sealant bonds to the pits and grooves of the teeth acting as a barrier to germs and plaque. As long as the sealant remains intact, the tooth surface will be protected from decay. |
